LINKIIPAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Version 1.0 – Founding Edition
Effective Date: August 25,2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("you," "your," "User," "Owner," or "Renter," as applicable) and Linkiipal LLC ("Linkiipal," "we," "our," or "us") governing your access to and use of the Linkiipal website, mobile application, and all related products, features, services, and technologies (collectively, the "Platform").
Please read these Terms carefully before creating an account, listing an item, renting an item, or otherwise using the Platform.
By accessing or using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, along with any policies, guidelines, or additional terms that are incorporated by reference. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Platform.
Welcome to Linkiipal
Linkiipal was created on a simple belief: people shouldn't have to purchase something they'll only use once.
Every day, valuable equipment, tools, trailers, event supplies, recreational gear, and countless other items sit unused while someone nearby is searching for exactly those things. Linkiipal exists to bridge that gap by creating a trusted marketplace where people can safely rent from one another.
Our mission is to make renting simple, secure, and accessible while helping Owners earn additional income from underutilized items and helping Renters gain affordable access to the equipment they need.
Trust is the foundation of everything we do. Every user is verified, every transaction is guided by transparent policies, and every dispute is evaluated fairly using available evidence. These principles are designed to protect both Owners and Renters while fostering a safe and respectful marketplace for everyone.
These Terms are more than a legal agreement—they represent the standards that govern the Linkiipal community. They explain your rights and responsibilities, define our role as the operator of the Platform, and establish the expectations that allow our marketplace to operate with fairness, integrity, and accountability.
Linkiipal is a technology platform that connects verified Owners who wish to rent out items with verified Renters who wish to rent those items.
We provide:
Linkiipal is not the owner of the items listed by users, and Linkiipal is not a party to the rental agreement itself. Each rental agreement is entered into directly between the Owner and the Renter. Our role is to facilitate a trusted marketplace where those transactions can occur safely and transparently.
Every decision we make—including dispute decisions—is guided by four principles:
Trust
Every user is verified, and every transaction should be honest and transparent.
Fairness
Owners deserve protection for legitimate losses, and Renters deserve decisions based on evidence—not assumptions.
Safety
Items, users, and interactions should not create unnecessary risk to others.
Simplicity
Our policies should be understandable by ordinary people, not only lawyers.
If a situation is not explicitly addressed elsewhere in these Terms, Linkiipal may interpret and apply these Terms in a manner that best advances these four principles.
To use Linkiipal, you must:
Linkiipal currently operates worldwide where legally permitted and where Stripe supports payment processing. The Platform is not available in Cuba or in other countries where Stripe does not provide service or where applicable laws prohibit our operations.
Trust begins with knowing who is participating in the marketplace.
Every user must complete identity verification before renting or listing an item.
Verification requires a government-issued photo identification, preferably a driver's license. Linkiipal may request additional verification information at any time to protect the marketplace, prevent fraud, or comply with applicable laws.
Providing false identity information, using another person's identification, or attempting to bypass verification may result in immediate account suspension or permanent removal from the Platform.
You are responsible for:
Accounts are personal and may not be sold, transferred, shared, or operated on behalf of another individual without Linkiipal's written authorization.
Linkiipal may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, threaten the safety of the community, or create unreasonable risk to the Platform or other users.
Purpose
Words matter.
The purpose of this chapter is to establish a common understanding of the terms used throughout these Terms of Service and all related Linkiipal policies. By defining important words and phrases in one place, we reduce misunderstandings, promote consistency, and help every member of the Linkiipal community clearly understand their rights and responsibilities.
Unless otherwise stated, the following definitions apply throughout these Terms and any policies incorporated by reference.
Account
An Account is a registered user profile created through the Linkiipal Platform that allows an individual to access, list items, rent items, communicate with other users, manage transactions, and use other features offered by Linkiipal.
Booking
A Booking is a rental request that has been accepted by the Owner and confirmed through the Platform.
Business Day
A Business Day means Monday through Saturday, excluding nationally recognized holidays observed by Linkiipal.
Community Guidelines
The Community Guidelines are the standards of conduct established by Linkiipal that govern how users interact with one another and use the Platform.
Current Market Value
Current Market Value means the reasonable value of an item immediately before a reported incident, determined using available evidence such as original purchase information, age, condition, depreciation, comparable market listings, and any other relevant documentation deemed appropriate by Linkiipal.
Damage Claim
A Damage Claim is a request submitted through the Platform seeking reimbursement or compensation for physical damage, theft, loss, or other eligible incidents involving a rented item.
Delivery Service
A Delivery Service is an optional fulfillment service selected through the Platform to transport a rented item between an Owner and a Renter. Delivery Service may be provided through iDeliver, which is performed by the Owner, or WeDeliver, which is performed by Linkiipal. Applicable delivery and retrieval fees are separate from rental charges and do not change Rental Time.
Unless otherwise stated or a Delivery Service is selected, pickup remains the default fulfillment method for rentals.
iDeliver
iDeliver is the optional Owner-provided delivery and retrieval service offered through the Platform. When selected, the Owner is responsible for delivering the item to the Renter and retrieving it after the rental. The Renter pays the applicable iDeliver fee, and the Owner receives that fee through the Platform. The fee is separate from rental charges and does not change Rental Time.
WeDeliver
WeDeliver is Linkiipal’s optional round-trip delivery and retrieval service. When selected, Linkiipal retrieves the item from the Owner, delivers it to the Renter, retrieves it from the Renter after the rental, and returns it to the Owner. The Renter pays the applicable WeDeliver round-trip delivery/retrieval fee, and Linkiipal receives that fee. The fee is separate from rental charges and does not change Rental Time.
Government-Issued Identification
Government-Issued Identification means a valid photo identification document issued by a governmental authority, such as a driver's license, passport, or other accepted identification approved by Linkiipal for identity verification purposes.
Linkiipal
Linkiipal, we, our, or us refers to Linkiipal LLC, the company that owns and operates the Linkiipal Platform.
Listing
A Listing is an item or service published by an Owner through the Platform and made available for rent under the terms established by the Owner and the policies of Linkiipal.
Marketplace
The Marketplace refers to the online environment created and operated by Linkiipal that enables verified Owners and verified Renters to discover, reserve, rent, and manage rental transactions.
Owner
An Owner is a verified user who offers one or more eligible items for rent through the Platform.
Owners are responsible for ensuring that their listings are accurate, lawful, safe, and maintained in a condition suitable for rental.
Platform
The Platform means the Linkiipal website, mobile application, and all related services, technologies, software, features, and tools provided by Linkiipal LLC.
Protection Plan
The Protection Plan is the mandatory protection provided by Linkiipal for eligible claims involving accidental damage, theft, or total loss, subject to the applicable Protection Plan terms, limitations, exclusions, eligibility requirements, and coverage conditions.
Prohibited Item
A Prohibited Item is any item that Linkiipal does not permit to be listed, rented, or advertised through the Platform, including items prohibited by law or by Linkiipal's policies.
Examples include firearms, illegal drugs, hazardous materials, counterfeit goods, stolen property, explosives, and products modified from the manufacturer's original specifications in a manner that may affect safety, performance, or legal compliance.
Rental
A Rental is the temporary use of an item by a Renter under an agreement between the Owner and the Renter that is facilitated through the Linkiipal Platform.
Rental Agreement
The Rental Agreement is the binding agreement entered into directly between an Owner and a Renter for the temporary use of a listed item.
While Linkiipal facilitates the transaction, Linkiipal is not a party to the Rental Agreement unless expressly stated otherwise.
Rental Period
The Rental Period is the paid or otherwise authorized period of use identified in the Booking and applicable Rental Agreement. For hourly rentals governed by the 30-1-30 Rule, the pickup/travel window before the Rental Period and the return/travel window after the Rental Period are separate handling windows and are not part of the paid Rental Period. For daily, weekly, monthly, or other rentals, the applicable start, end, pickup, and return timing is governed by the Booking and Rental Agreement.
Rental Time
Rental Time means the period during which the Renter is authorized to use the rented item under the Booking and applicable Rental Agreement. For an Hourly Booking governed by the 30-1-30 Rule, Rental Time is the scheduled one-hour paid Rental Period and does not include the 30-minute Fulfillment Window before or after that period. Rental Time is distinct from travel, delivery, handoff, retrieval, and return logistics unless the Booking expressly states otherwise.
Renter
A Renter is a verified user who reserves and temporarily uses an item listed on the Platform.
Renters are responsible for using rented items responsibly, following applicable laws, and returning items in the agreed condition by the applicable return deadline, including the end of any authorized return window.
Reasonable Wear and Tear
Reasonable Wear and Tear means the ordinary and expected signs of normal use that occur during the proper use of an item and do not materially affect its appearance, functionality, safety, or market value.
Reasonable Wear and Tear does not include abuse, neglect, accidental damage, misuse, unauthorized modifications, or avoidable deterioration.
Security Deposit
A Security Deposit is an amount established by the Owner and collected and held by Linkiipal in connection with a Booking to help cover eligible damages, losses, unpaid fees, or other authorized charges as provided in these Terms and related policies. The deposit may remain subject to applicable hold, release, or claim procedures through return of the item and resolution of eligible post-return matters.
Service Fee
A Service Fee is the amount charged by Linkiipal for providing marketplace services.
Depending on the Owner's selected pricing plan, the Service Fee may be charged on a per-transaction basis or replaced by a recurring subscription fee.
Stripe
Stripe is the third-party payment processor used by Linkiipal to securely process payments made through the Platform.
The processing of payment information is subject to Stripe's applicable terms, privacy practices, and security standards.
Subscription Plan
A Subscription Plan is an optional monthly pricing model available to Owners that replaces per-transaction service fees with a recurring monthly subscription fee while the subscription remains active.
User
A User is any individual who accesses or uses the Linkiipal Platform, whether as an Owner, Renter, or visitor.
Verified User
A Verified User is a User who has successfully completed Linkiipal's required identity verification process and has been approved to participate in the Marketplace.
30-1-30 Rule
The 30-1-30 Rule is Linkiipal's scheduling structure for all Hourly Bookings, regardless of whether fulfillment occurs through direct pickup, iDeliver, or WeDeliver. It consists of a 30-minute Fulfillment Window before the scheduled one-hour Rental Period, the one-hour paid Rental Period, and a 30-minute Fulfillment Window after the Rental Period. Depending on the selected fulfillment method, the surrounding windows accommodate the applicable pickup, travel, delivery, handoff, retrieval, and return logistics. The Fulfillment Windows do not constitute additional paid Rental Time and do not extend the permitted period of use.
Interpretation
Unless the context clearly indicates otherwise:

By accessing or using the Platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all policies incorporated by reference.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Linkiipal LLC grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to access and use the Platform solely for its intended purpose of listing, discovering, renting, and managing eligible rental transactions.
This license does not transfer ownership of the Platform or any intellectual property rights to you.
Every User is expected to use the Platform responsibly and in good faith.

Linkiipal reserves the right to investigate suspected violations and take appropriate action, including suspension or termination of Accounts.
While Linkiipal strives to provide reliable service, we do not guarantee that the Platform will be available at all times or without interruption.
Maintenance, upgrades, technical issues, security measures, or events beyond our reasonable control may temporarily affect the availability of the Platform.
Whenever reasonably possible, Linkiipal will work to restore normal service promptly.
As Linkiipal continues to improve, we may introduce new features, modify existing services, discontinue certain functionality, or update the Platform to enhance security, usability, and performance.
We reserve the right to make these changes at our discretion while continuing to support the overall purpose of the Marketplace.
Linkiipal is built on the expectation that Users will interact honestly and fairly.
Users are expected to participate in rentals, communications, reviews, and dispute resolution in good faith. Attempts to exploit loopholes, abuse Platform features, or gain unfair advantages over other Users are inconsistent with the values of the Linkiipal community and may result in corrective action.
In return, Linkiipal LLC is committed to:
While no marketplace can eliminate every risk, Linkiipal is committed to building systems and policies that promote transparency, accountability, and trust for every User.
Purpose
Trust begins with knowing who is participating in the Marketplace.
Identity verification helps protect Owners, Renters, and the Linkiipal community by reducing fraud, discouraging misuse, and promoting accountability. Every verified account strengthens the integrity of the Platform and helps create a safer experience for everyone.
To participate in the Marketplace as an Owner or Renter, every User must successfully complete Linkiipal's identity verification process.
Verification is required before listing items, requesting rentals, accepting rental requests, or participating in other Marketplace activities that require a verified identity.
Users must provide accurate, current, and complete information during the verification process.
Verification may require:
Providing false, altered, expired, or misleading documentation may result in the immediate suspension or permanent termination of an Account.
Identity verification is not a one-time event.
Linkiipal may request updated identification or additional verification at any time when reasonably necessary, including but not limited to:
Failure to complete requested verification within a reasonable period may limit or suspend access to Marketplace features.
Users are responsible for keeping their Account information accurate and current.
If your legal name, contact information, or other important Account details change, you agree to update your information promptly through the Platform.
Unless expressly authorized by Linkiipal, each individual may maintain only one personal Account.
Creating multiple Accounts to avoid restrictions, manipulate reviews, bypass suspensions, or gain an unfair advantage is prohibited.
You are responsible for safeguarding your Account credentials and for all activities conducted through your Account.
You agree to:
Linkiipal is not responsible for losses resulting from your failure to protect your Account credentials.
Linkiipal actively works to detect and prevent fraudulent activity.
To protect the Marketplace, Linkiipal may:
These measures are intended to protect the Marketplace and may be taken without prior notice when necessary to preserve security.
Identity verification confirms that a User's identity has been reasonably verified based on the information provided during the verification process.
Verification does not guarantee a User's future conduct, reliability, financial responsibility, or compliance with these Terms.
Users should continue to exercise reasonable judgment when participating in Marketplace activities.
Linkiipal recognizes that identity verification involves sensitive personal information.
We are committed to handling verification information responsibly, protecting it through appropriate security measures, and processing personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable laws.
Identity verification exists to strengthen trust—not to create unnecessary barriers for legitimate users.
Purpose
Every successful rental begins with an accurate and honest listing.
Listings are the foundation of trust between Owners and Renters. Clear descriptions, accurate photographs, and truthful information help users make informed decisions, reduce misunderstandings, and contribute to a fair and reliable Marketplace.
This chapter establishes the standards that apply to every listing published on the Linkiipal Platform.
Only Verified Users with an active Account in good standing may create and publish Listings on the Platform.
By creating a Listing, an Owner confirms that they have the legal right and authority to rent the item and to enter into a Rental Agreement with a Renter.
Every Listing must accurately describe the item being offered.
Owners are responsible for ensuring that all information, including descriptions, specifications, pricing, availability, and photographs, is truthful, complete, and kept reasonably up to date.
Listings must not contain false, misleading, exaggerated, or deceptive information.
If important information changes, the Owner is responsible for updating the Listing as soon as reasonably possible.
By publishing a Listing, the Owner represents and warrants that:
Owners are solely responsible for ensuring they have the legal authority to list an item.
Owners must present rental items in a condition that is clean, safe, functional, and suitable for their intended use.
Any known defects, cosmetic damage, operational limitations, missing accessories, or special operating instructions must be clearly disclosed within the Listing before a rental is confirmed.
Failure to disclose material information may affect the outcome of future disputes or damage claims.
Photographs are an important part of every Listing and help establish the condition of an item before each rental.
Owners are encouraged to upload recent, high-quality photographs that accurately represent the item being offered.
Whenever practical, photographs should clearly show:
Additional photographs may be requested by Linkiipal when reasonably necessary to investigate a dispute or verify a Listing.
Owners are responsible for maintaining accurate availability information.
If an item becomes unavailable, is no longer operational, or cannot reasonably be provided during the scheduled Rental Period, the Owner should promptly update the Listing and notify any affected Renters.
Repeated cancellations or inaccurate availability may result in corrective action by Linkiipal.
Owners are responsible for establishing their own rental rates, security deposit amounts, iDeliver delivery/retrieval fees (if offered), and any optional charges permitted by the Platform. WeDeliver fees are established and received by Linkiipal.
All pricing must be presented clearly and honestly.
Owners may not advertise one price while intending to collect a different amount outside the Platform.
Owners may not list any item that:
Linkiipal may remove prohibited Listings without prior notice.
Every Listing should enable a reasonable person to understand exactly what is being offered.
Owners should provide enough information for a prospective Renter to make an informed rental decision without needing to guess about the item's identity, condition, capabilities, or included accessories.
Listings that are intentionally vague or misleading are inconsistent with the standards of the Marketplace.
Linkiipal reserves the right to review, edit, suspend, reject, or remove any Listing that:
Linkiipal's review of a Listing does not guarantee its accuracy or constitute an endorsement of the listed item.
Owners play an essential role in maintaining the quality of the Marketplace.
By creating a Listing, Owners contribute to the trust that allows the Linkiipal community to thrive.
Accurate Listings, honest communication, timely updates, and responsible participation help create a Marketplace where every User can rent with greater confidence.
Linkiipal encourages every Owner to approach Listings with the same care and honesty they would expect when renting from someone else.
Purpose
Every rental begins with a mutual commitment between an Owner and a Renter.
The rental request and booking process establishes the expectations for both parties before an item changes hands. A clear and transparent booking process helps reduce misunderstandings, encourages timely communication, and promotes confidence throughout the Marketplace.
This chapter explains how rental requests are submitted, reviewed, accepted, modified, and confirmed through the Linkiipal Platform.
Verified Renters may submit a rental request for any eligible Listing available through the Platform.
A rental request should include all information reasonably required to complete the transaction, including the requested rental period and any other information requested by the Platform.
Submitting a rental request does not create a Rental Agreement or guarantee that a booking will be accepted.
Owners are responsible for reviewing rental requests before deciding whether to accept or decline them.
Owners may consider relevant information available through the Platform, including:
Owners should make booking decisions fairly and in good faith.
A rental request becomes a confirmed Booking only after:
Until all required steps have been completed, neither party should assume that a rental has been confirmed.
Owners may decline rental requests for legitimate business or personal reasons.
While Owners are generally not required to explain why a request was declined, Linkiipal reserves the right to investigate patterns of conduct that may violate applicable laws or Platform policies.
Repeated acceptance and cancellation of rental requests without reasonable justification may affect an Owner's standing within the Marketplace.
If a rental request is not accepted within the period specified by the Platform, the request may automatically expire.
Expired requests do not create any obligation for either party.
Renters may submit a new request if the item remains available.
Owners and Renters are encouraged to communicate promptly, respectfully, and honestly throughout the booking process.
To promote safety, accountability, and efficient customer support, communications related to a rental should be conducted through the Linkiipal Platform whenever reasonably possible.
Users should promptly notify one another if circumstances arise that may affect the rental.
After a Booking has been confirmed, changes to the rental period, pickup location, delivery arrangements, pricing adjustments, or other material terms require the agreement of both the Owner and the Renter.
Any approved modifications should be completed through the Platform whenever available.
Confirmed Bookings may only be canceled in accordance with Linkiipal's Cancellation Policy.
At this time, only Renters may cancel a confirmed Booking, subject to the applicable cancellation terms established by Linkiipal.
Owners are expected to honor confirmed Bookings except in extraordinary circumstances or as otherwise permitted by Linkiipal.
Before confirming a Booking, both Owners and Renters are responsible for carefully reviewing all relevant information, including:
Questions or concerns should be resolved before the Booking is confirmed whenever reasonably possible.
Every confirmed Booking represents a commitment between two members of the Linkiipal community.
By confirming a Booking:
Mutual respect, honest communication, and responsible participation are essential to maintaining a trusted Marketplace.
Both Owners and Renters are expected to participate in the booking process honestly and in good faith.
Users should not intentionally delay responses, misuse the booking process, submit requests without genuine intent to rent, or engage in conduct designed to manipulate availability, pricing, or Marketplace activity.
Linkiipal may investigate conduct that undermines the integrity of the booking process and may take appropriate action when necessary to protect the Marketplace.
Purpose
A secure and transparent payment process is essential to maintaining trust within the Marketplace.
This chapter explains how payments are processed, how service fees are applied, how subscription plans operate, and the financial responsibilities of Owners and Renters when using the Linkiipal Platform.
All payments made through the Linkiipal Platform are securely processed by Stripe, Linkiipal's third-party payment processing partner.
Linkiipal does not directly process or store complete payment card information. Payment information is handled by Stripe in accordance with its applicable terms, privacy practices, and security standards.
By submitting payment information through the Platform, Users authorize Stripe and Linkiipal, as applicable, to process payments related to Marketplace transactions.
Users must provide a valid payment method supported by Stripe in order to complete Marketplace transactions.
Payment methods must remain valid throughout the rental process.
Linkiipal may decline or suspend transactions if payment authorization cannot be completed.
Before confirming a Booking, the Renter will be presented with a summary of all applicable charges, which may include:
Users are responsible for reviewing the payment summary before completing a transaction.
Linkiipal offers Owners two service fee models.
Pay-As-You-Go
Owners who choose the Pay-As-You-Go model pay a service fee for each completed rental transaction.
The applicable fee is disclosed before the transaction is completed.
Subscription Plan
Owners may choose an optional monthly subscription plan.
Owners enrolled in an active subscription plan pay a recurring monthly subscription fee instead of per-transaction service fees, subject to the terms of the selected subscription.
Subscription fees are charged regardless of rental activity during the subscription period unless otherwise stated.
Linkiipal may introduce additional subscription options or modify subscription offerings in the future with appropriate notice.
By submitting a rental request or completing a Marketplace transaction, Users authorize Linkiipal and its payment processor to:
Payment authorizations may include temporary holds where permitted by applicable payment network rules.
If a payment cannot be successfully processed for any reason, Linkiipal may:
Users remain responsible for all amounts lawfully owed.
Users are responsible for any taxes that may apply to their use of the Marketplace, except where Linkiipal is legally required to collect, remit, or report taxes on behalf of Users.
Where required by law, applicable taxes may be included in the transaction summary before payment is completed.
Refunds, credits, and billing adjustments are governed by these Terms, the applicable Cancellation Policy, and any other relevant Platform policies.
When a refund is approved, Linkiipal will make reasonable efforts to process the refund promptly through the original payment method whenever practicable.
Processing times may vary depending on the payment provider and financial institution.
Users are responsible for ensuring that their payment information remains accurate and up to date.
Failure to maintain valid billing information may result in declined transactions, delayed Bookings, subscription interruptions, or restricted access to certain Marketplace features.
Financial transparency is essential to maintaining confidence in the Marketplace.
Users agree not to:
Transactions conducted outside the Platform may not be eligible for Linkiipal's dispute support, protection benefits, or other Marketplace services.
Linkiipal reserves the right to investigate suspected attempts to bypass the Platform and may take appropriate action to protect the integrity of the Marketplace.
Purpose
Security deposits are designed to provide a reasonable financial safeguard against certain obligations that may arise during a rental.
A security deposit is not automatically owed to an Owner simply because an item was rented. Any amount withheld from a security deposit should be supported by the circumstances of the rental, available evidence, and the actual loss or obligation being claimed.
Linkiipal's goal is to protect both Owners and Renters through a fair, transparent, and evidence-based deposit process.
An Owner may require a security deposit as a condition of renting an item through the Linkiipal Platform.
The applicable deposit amount will be disclosed to the Renter before the Booking is confirmed.
By confirming a Booking that requires a security deposit, the Renter authorizes the applicable deposit amount to be processed or held through Linkiipal's payment system in accordance with the applicable payment-processing procedures.
Security deposits established by Owners are held or managed by Linkiipal in connection with the applicable rental transaction.
Linkiipal does not treat a security deposit as ordinary rental income.
The deposit exists to provide financial protection for qualifying obligations that may arise from the Renter's use or possession of the rented item.
A security deposit may be used to address legitimate financial obligations arising from a rental, which may include:
A security deposit may not be withheld simply because an Owner is dissatisfied with a Renter or because a rental ended.
If an Owner believes that an amount should be withheld from a Renter's security deposit, the Owner must provide Linkiipal with information and evidence reasonably supporting the claim.
Evidence may include:
Owners are encouraged to maintain clear before-and-after documentation for every rental.
Where a deposit claim concerns damage, Linkiipal may compare the condition of the item before the rental with its condition after the rental.
Pre-rental and post-rental photographs may be particularly important in determining whether damage appears to have occurred while the item was in the Renter's possession in connection with the Booking, including any authorized pickup/travel or return/travel window.
Users agree to cooperate with reasonable requests for information or evidence relating to a deposit claim.
A security deposit should not be withheld in an amount greater than the reasonably supported financial loss or obligation associated with the claim, subject to applicable laws and the terms of the Rental Agreement.
For example, if a Renter provides a $500 security deposit and documented damage reasonably requires a $20 repair, Linkiipal should not automatically release the entire $500 deposit to the Owner merely because a claim exists.
Where the evidence supports only a partial claim, only the supported amount should ordinarily be withheld.
Any remaining eligible balance should be returned to the Renter in accordance with the applicable payment-processing procedures.
When evaluating a damage-related deposit claim, Linkiipal may consider the reasonable cost of repairing the item rather than automatically treating the item as a total loss.
Factors that may be considered include:
Normal wear and tear that would reasonably occur through ordinary use should generally not be treated as damage caused by the Renter.
Owners are responsible for accurately documenting known damage or defects before the item is released into the Renter's possession.
A Renter should not be held financially responsible for damage that was reasonably present before the rental and supported by available evidence.
Failure to document pre-rental condition may make it more difficult for an Owner to establish that a particular condition occurred during the Renter's possession.
Linkiipal may decline, reduce, or deny a deposit claim when available evidence does not reasonably establish the claimed loss or when the requested amount is not adequately supported.
The absence of sufficient evidence does not automatically establish that no damage occurred; however, Linkiipal may require reasonable documentation before approving a deduction from a security deposit.
When a security deposit claim is submitted, Linkiipal may review the information provided by the Owner and Renter.
The review may consider:
Linkiipal may request additional information from either party when reasonably necessary to evaluate the claim.
If a Renter disputes a proposed deduction, the Renter may provide information or evidence supporting their position.
Linkiipal may mediate the matter between the parties and make a determination based on the evidence available to Linkiipal, consistent with the applicable dispute-resolution provisions of these Terms.
Users agree to cooperate honestly and in good faith during the review process.
After a deposit claim has been reviewed and resolved, Linkiipal will process the applicable deposit release, withholding, or refund in accordance with the determination and applicable payment-processing procedures.
If no qualifying claim is established, the eligible security deposit balance will be returned to the Renter.
If a qualifying claim is established, the amount supported by the evidence may be released to the Owner, with any remaining eligible balance returned to the Renter.
Processing times may vary depending on the payment processor and financial institution.
A security deposit does not guarantee that an Owner will be fully compensated for every loss.
Likewise, the existence of a security deposit does not authorize an Owner to claim an amount without reasonable evidence.
Additional rights or obligations may exist under the Rental Agreement, applicable Linkiipal policies, or applicable law.
Owners are responsible for:
Renters are responsible for:
Users may not intentionally submit false, inflated, or misleading security deposit claims.
Attempting to obtain money from a security deposit through fraudulent documentation, fabricated damage, intentional misrepresentation, or other dishonest conduct may result in account restrictions, suspension, termination, or other action permitted under these Terms.
Linkiipal recognizes that security deposits can create significant financial consequences for both Owners and Renters.
Accordingly, Linkiipal's deposit process is designed around a simple principle:
The existence of a deposit does not determine the amount of a claim. Evidence does.
Linkiipal will seek to administer security deposit matters in a manner that is reasonable, transparent, and consistent with the information available at the time of review.
The objective is not to favor Owners or Renters.
The objective is to determine what the available evidence reasonably supports.
Rental Periods and Hourly Rental Time
Flexible Rental Periods
Linkiipal allows Owners to offer rentals using different rental periods, including:
The rental period selected by the Renter determines the applicable rental charge and the period for which the item may be possessed and used, subject to the applicable Listing and Rental Agreement.
Hourly Rentals
Hourly rentals are intended to provide flexibility for Users who need an item for a relatively short period of time.
For an hourly rental, the rental charge is based on the hourly rental period selected and agreed upon at the time of Booking, rather than the total amount of time a Renter spends traveling to or from the Owner's location.
Unless otherwise stated in the Listing or Rental Agreement, transportation time is not added to the Owner's hourly rental charge.
Hourly Rentals — The 30-1-30 Rule
Why This Rule Exists
Hourly rentals can create confusion when the time required to travel to and from an item is mistaken for rental time.
Linkiipal's 30-1-30 Rule is designed to prevent timing confusion by creating reasonable fulfillment windows before and after the paid Rental Period, whether the item is exchanged through direct pickup, iDeliver, or WeDeliver, while keeping the actual paid Rental Period clearly defined.
The purpose is simple:
Provide enough time to complete the applicable pickup, delivery, handoff, retrieval, and return logistics without converting those logistics into additional Rental Time that was never booked.
The 30-1-30 structure separates:
Pre-Rental Fulfillment → Rental Use → Post-Rental Fulfillment
This allows both the Owner and Renter to know exactly what the Booking provides.
How the 30-1-30 Rule Works
The 30-1-30 Rule applies to every Hourly Booking. For direct pickup, the Fulfillment Windows accommodate pickup, travel, and return. For iDeliver, they accommodate the Owner’s delivery, handoff, retrieval, and return logistics. For WeDeliver, they accommodate Linkiipal’s delivery, handoff, retrieval, and return logistics. In every case, the scheduled one-hour Rental Period remains the paid period of use.
For an hourly Booking, Linkiipal provides:
The 30-minute periods are Fulfillment Windows for the logistics associated with the selected fulfillment method. They are not additional paid Rental Time.
Example
If an hourly Booking is scheduled from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM:
1:30 PM–2:00 PM
Pickup and travel window.
2:00 PM–3:00 PM
One-hour Rental Period.
3:00 PM–3:30 PM
Return and travel window.
The Renter pays for one hour of rental use.
The additional 30-minute Fulfillment Windows accommodate the logistics associated with the selected fulfillment method and do not provide additional Rental Time.
The Pre-Rental Fulfillment Window
For direct pickup, the 30-minute pre-rental Fulfillment Window allows the Renter to complete pickup and travel logistics. For iDeliver or WeDeliver, the same window accommodates the applicable delivery and handoff logistics before the Rental Period begins.
Each party must reasonably cooperate with the pickup, delivery, or handoff arrangements applicable to the selected fulfillment method during this window.
The Fulfillment Window does not guarantee availability outside the time established for the applicable pickup, delivery, or handoff arrangement.
The Rental Period
The scheduled one-hour period is the actual Rental Period.
For example, a Booking from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM provides one hour of rental use.
Travel time to the Owner's location does not reduce the one-hour Rental Period.
Likewise, travel time after the Rental Period does not extend it.
The Post-Rental Fulfillment Window
The 30-minute post-rental Fulfillment Window accommodates the applicable return, retrieval, handoff, and related logistics after the Rental Period ends.
Using the example above, the applicable return or retrieval handoff should be completed by 3:30 PM.
The post-rental Fulfillment Window does not authorize continued use of the item beyond the scheduled 3:00 PM Rental Period.
What Happens If the Renter Returns the Item Late?
If the item has not been returned by the end of the 30-minute return window, the Renter may be considered late.
For example:
Rental Period: 2:00 PM–3:00 PM
Return Window: 3:00 PM–3:30 PM
Actual Return: 3:45 PM
The return occurred outside the permitted return window.
The applicable Late Return Policy may therefore apply, including any applicable fees or other consequences.
Travel Time Is Not Additional Rental Time
The 30-1-30 Rule is especially important because Linkiipal's current hourly rental structure does not automatically calculate rental charges based on the exact number of minutes between pickup and return.
For example, a Renter may:
Those travel and handling periods do not turn a one-hour Booking into a longer paid rental.
The Renter booked one hour of rental use.
Travel and handling time within the applicable pickup and return windows is not automatically converted into additional rental charges. Travel that causes the Renter to miss the applicable return deadline may be treated as a late return under these Terms.
Important Distinction Between Travel Time and Rental Time
Linkiipal's hourly rental system is designed around a fixed hourly rental period rather than automatically calculating rental charges based on the exact number of minutes between pickup and return.
No Automatic Extension
The 30-1-30 Rule does not create an automatic extension of the Rental Period.
If a Renter needs additional rental time, the Renter should request an extension through the applicable Linkiipal process before the Rental Period expires.
An extension is only effective when properly approved and recorded according to Linkiipal's Booking procedures.
The Linkiipal Principle
The 30-1-30 Rule is not designed to penalize Renters.
It is designed to eliminate uncertainty.
30 minutes to get there.
1 hour to use it.
30 minutes to bring it back.
Everyone knows where the clock begins, where the rental ends, and when a return becomes late.
Clear expectations create confident rentals.
The Owner's rental charge remains based on the one-hour rental period selected for the Booking.
The Renter's travel time to and from the pickup location does not automatically convert the one-hour rental into a two-hour, two-and-a-half-hour, or other extended rental period.
Rental Time Is Not the Same as Travel Time
For purposes of calculating rental charges, Linkiipal distinguishes between:
Rental Time — the rental period agreed upon for the Booking during which the Renter is authorized to possess and use the item under the applicable Rental Agreement.
Travel Time — the time a Renter spends traveling to pick up an item or traveling to return an item.
Travel time is not automatically included in the rental duration and does not automatically create an additional rental charge.
Pickup and Return Responsibilities
Renters are responsible for planning sufficient travel time to arrive during the applicable pickup window and complete the return by the applicable return deadline. For hourly rentals, the return deadline is the end of the 30-minute return/travel window unless a different arrangement is expressly approved and recorded through the Platform.
A Renter's travel distance or transportation time does not automatically extend the Rental Period.
For example, a Renter may begin traveling before the 30-minute pickup window if needed, but the handoff should occur during the applicable pickup window. After the paid Rental Period ends, the Renter must complete the return within the 30-minute return/travel window unless an extension or different return arrangement is expressly approved and recorded through the Platform.
